Horizontal & Vertical Fluidized Bed Jet Mill

A jet mill reduces particles to fine powder using high-speed compressed air or gas instead of grinding media. Particles accelerate to the speed of sound in the grinding nozzles and break each other apart in mid-air collision. No media touches the product, so no media material enters the powder. This media-free principle is why jet mills own the applications where contamination is not acceptable: 

• Battery materials: cathode and anode powders that demand D97 below 20 µm with tight impurity limits 

• Pharmaceuticals: API micronization with low heat and no cross contamination 

• High-purity minerals: quartz, alumina and fillers sold on whiteness and chemistry 

• Hard and abrasive materials: powders that would destroy media-based mills and contaminate themselves in the process
