De versnelde materialen ontmoeten elkaar op de kruising van de sproeiluchtstroom van verschillende mondstukken, resulterend in een gewelddadige botsing, wrijving en afschuiving om het fijn verpletterde deeltje te bereiken. Het verbrijzelde materiaal wordt door de stijgende luchtstroom naar het classificatiegebied van de waaier getransporteerd. Onder invloed van de middelpuntvliedende kracht van het classificatiewiel en de ventilatoraanzuiging wordt het grove en fijne poeder gescheiden. Het grove poeder keert volgens zijn zwaartekracht terug naar de breekruimte om door te gaan met verpletteren. De luchtstroom komt de cyclooncollector binnen, het fijne stof wordt opgevangen door het zakkenfilter en het gezuiverde gas wordt afgevoerd door de
